إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ
“And when We raised you from the earth”.
“And that upon him (i.e., he has the exclusive responsibility) is the other raising”.
Divine commitment to the other raising, the pairing between this life and the next, and the connection that runs through this Surah’s sequence.
The explanation emphasizes that Allah declares the responsibility upon Himself for “the other raising.” This is presented as a direct, exclusive commitment.
Allah has already mentioned once that humans were raised from the earth.
Now, He states: “I have taken it upon myself to raise you all over again.”
The explanation connects an earlier mention of being raised from the earth with this ayah’s “other raising,” presenting them together.
“And when We raised you from the earth”.
“The other raising” — upon Him is its responsibility.
The explanation notes a pattern in the Surah: Allah alternates references between this life and the next, presenting things in pairs.
References to worldly life appear in sequence.
These are paired with references to the next life.
The alternation underscores a deliberate pairing.
The Surah continues this paired movement.
According to the explanation, Allah provides the correlation between the two — connecting this life and the next within the Surah’s flow.
The explanation indicates the sequence will be completed with one more point that applies to both this life and the next.
There is one more thing to be mentioned that applies to both lives, completing the sequence as stated in the following verse.
